Pendaftaran dibuka kembali (15 Nopember 2009)

Bismillah..pendaftaran email @planetsalaf.com telah kami buka kembali. Mohon maaf jika cukup lama kami tidak melakukan penambahan akun, ini disebabkan keterbatasan waktu kami untuk melakukan 'maintenance'. Insya Alloh mulai bulan Nopember 2009 sudah normal kembali. Alhamdulillah 'alaa kulli haal.

Bismillah, diberitahukan kepada pendaftar baru email @planetsalaf.com, BAHWA sejak 1 ramadhan/1 september s.d 8 Syawwal 1428H/9 Oktober 2008M - kami belum bisa memproses pendaftaran email yang baru. NAMUN tidak perlu kuatir data yang telah ada pada kami akan diproses (jadi tidak perlu mendaftar ulang kembali). Terimakasih atas pengertiannya.

500 lebih Email Terdaftar

Hingga hari ini (14 Oktober 2008) kami telah mendaftarkan lebih 500 akun email di planetsalaf.com sejak bulan April 2008 kami menginformasikan ini kepada khalayak. Jadi hampir 4 (empat) bulan sejak promosi pertama kali.

Walaupun tidak mengejar target banyaknya email tahun ini sampai 2000 akun, kami tetap berusaha memilah nama yang layak diterima. Beberapa email pendaftar kami tolak dan dihapus karena adanya pertimbangan lain.

Beberapa catatan penting untuk memudahkan anda mendaftar di @planetsalaf.com

1. Anda harus mempunyai email terlebih dahulu (misal yahoo,telkom,plasa,gmail dst) untuk sekedar konfirmasi pendaftaran anda.
2. Gunakan karakter nama yang unik atau umum yang mudah ditulis
3. Gunakan karakter nama pengguna minimum 4 (empat) karakter
4. Gunakan tambahan karakter '-' '_' '.' untuk memisahkan 2 karakter nama (abu-muhammad) (abu_muhammad) (abu.muhammad) jika anda mendapatkan email tersebut telah didaftarkan oleh orang lain dengan nama (abumuhammad)
5. Segera melakukan perubahan password jika email anda telah disetujui.
6. Jika mendapatkan masalah pada login silahkan baca manualnya di http://b.planetsalaf.com atau jika masih kesulitan silahkan hubungi kami diemail id@planetsalaf.com

Perna mendapatkan pesan "Login Failed" ketika mencoba membuka email dari http://planetsalaf.com/mail

Jangan kuatir, anda hanya perlu melakukan langkah mudah dengan meng-aktifkan fasilitas 'Enable IMAP' pada planetsalaf mail. Caranya ?

Langkah Mengaktifkan IMAP:

Login terlebih dahulu di http://mail.planetsalaf.com
Setelah login berhasil, klik 'setting' dibagian atas layar email anda
Selanjutnya, klik 'Forwarding and Pop/IMAP'
Dan aktifkan 'Enable IMAP' pada IMAP Access
Simpan konfigurasi anda dengan menekan tombol 'save change'
- Selesai - silahkan melakukan login kembali di http://planetsalaf.com/mail

Virtual Drive @planetsalaf

Bismillah...
Kini pengguna layanan email @Planetsalaf dapat menggunakan fasilitas VIRTUAL DRIVE , yang memungkinkan pengguna menyimpan file atau data pribadi (doc,mp3,xls,pdf dst) kedalam akun @planetsalaf nya.

Bagaimana caranya ?
1. Download Aplikasi (156Kb) disini
2. Ekstrak hasil download dan Lakukan Instalasi dengan meng-klik 2x ikon 'setup'
3. Buka Windows Explorer dan Perhatikan di bagian kiri panel telah tercipta 'Gmail Drive' - seperti dibawah ini

4. Arahkan kursor ke 'Gmail Drive', kini terbuka jendela form login - seperti dibawah ini - dan masukkan informasi akun dan password @planetsalaf anda.

5. Jika berhasill, arahkan kursos ke panel sebelah kanan dan klik mouse sebelah kanan untuk membuat folder baru (misal) audio, seperti dibawah ini:

Jika anda menggunakan Virtual Drive ini ditempat-tempat umum seperti WARNET atau KANTOR demi keamanan UNTUK TIDAK mengaktifkan AUTO LOGIN!
Anda hanya dapat meupload file dengan besar 10 MB atau lebih kecil untuk 1x upload file.
Panjang karakter file 40 huruf/angka Maksimal
Akses Gmail Drive ini tidak terlalu cepat
Rutinlah untuk menghapus-mengupdate file anda, karena fasilitas ini tidak didukung sepenuhnya oleh Gmail

How to Access @Planetsalaf on Desktop Email Software

@Planetsalaf is Free Mail from Gmail with web based, but unlike Yahoo and Hotmail, you can use your @planetsalaf account with your favorite email software, such as Outlook, Thunderbird, Kmail, or Eudora. Here is how to setup your email client to send and receive your @Planetsalaf email.

Understand that no two email client programs are setup the same way. That said, here is the basic information you will need to setup the software.
- Your Name: Your full name
- Email Address: Your @Planetsalaf email address
- Incoming Server Type: POP or POP3
- Incoming Server Address: pop.gmail.com
- Outgoing Server Address: smtp.gmail.com
- Incoming Username: yourusername@planetsalaf.com
- Outgoing Username: yourusername@planetsalaf.com
- POP Server Port: 995
- Use secure connection: Yes
- Use authentication: Yes
- SMTP Server Port: 587 or 465
- Use Secure Connection Type: TLS
Before you can setup your client software, you need to set your @planetsalaf preferences to allow POP email. Go to planetsalaf.com and login to your account. In the top right hand corner is a link for "Settings". Follow the link.
From there click on the "Forwarding and POP" tab. Scroll down to "POP Download:" Click the radio button for either "Enable POP for all mail" or "Enable POP only for mail that arrives from now on." Which one you choose is up to you, but if choose to enable POP for all mail, the first time you start your client software and set it up, it will download all the mail in your planetsalaf account. This can be a problem if you have thousands of emails stashed away.
On the same page is the link "Configuration instructions." If you need more help with setting up your particular client software, follow that link.

Tips

@Planetsalaf with Gmail Technology does a excellent job of identifying spam and phishing emails. It puts them in a separate folder. These emails are not transferred to your email (pop) client. You may want to occasionally (less than every 30 days) check @planetsalaf via a browser to check for mis-identified email.
Thunderbird is particularly good with @Planetsalaf. Please download here

How to Switch from Yahoo! Mail to Planetsalaf

Step-1 Transfer your contacts

Export your contacts from Yahoo mail: Go to >> Address >> Import/Export >> Yahoo CSV.
Save the file on Desktop.
Log into Planetsalaf.
Click on "Contacts" in the left hand sidebars.
Select "Import Contacts" from the options.
In "Browse," select the file on your Desktop. It will import all your contacts.

Step-2

Transfer your messages

If you have important e-mails you want to keep, just send them to your new address.
You can use IzyMail to forward and import all of your current and future email to Planetsalaf

Tips

If you want to abandon your Yahoo account, go to "Mail Options" in Yahoo. Select "Vacation Response." Write a short note to announce to correspondents to send all emails to your new @planetsalaf address, which you specify. This email will be sent to whoever emails you on your Yahoo. So you may want to obfiscate your email ID: ie. ghost_post(AT)oman.om instead of ghost_post@oman.om If you want, you can also send a quick email from @Planetsalaf to your Contact Book addresses informing them of your change.
If you're willing to pay the $20 per year for Premium Yahoo mail and want to auto-forward your email from Yahoo to @Planetsalaf, go to "Mail Options" in Yahoo. Select "POP and forwarding." Choose "forwarding" from the list and enter your @planetsalaf address. Press "send." (Yahoo! has recently discontinued some of its programs which charged for features. Reports vary, but some Yahoo! email users have reported this service now available for free. Try it on your account to see.)

WARNING

Remember to check your Yahoo account occasionally in case you have received an important message which the sender has not forwarded to your @Planetsalaf. Also, Yahoo will deactivate any account that has not been logged into for four months, as it will be deemed a "dormant account" (http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/access/access-04.html)
As of recent, @Planetsalaf supports both importing and exporting your contacts to CSV (comma separated values) file. Take note that @Planetsalaf CSV file is compatible with MS Outlook (NOT Outlook Express), so if you want to transfer your contacts from/to your local e-mail client, make sure it supports MS Outlook CSV format. You can easily import/export address books between MS Outlook and MS Outlook Express though, but it's beyond the scope of this article.
Be cautious when using the "Vacation Response" as mentioned above. This will alert everyone who emails you what your new email is, no matter if you want them to know it or not. Some spammers do monitor emails that come back to them with software which can automatically add your new email address to their database.
